Galileo Install Eclipse on Ubuntu 9.10

Hello everyone, here is a post
really easy to work correctly with Eclipse Galileo Ubuntu 9.10 (I'll never stop complimenting myself for having updated ...). In practice, normally part of the environment, but almost all the buttons are not functional for confirmation and then will not be able even to define your preferred JDK.
  • first download the tar.gz from the official site and scompattiamolo in a directory you like, let's say / opt / eclipse.
  • After that we go to the home of Our user trust (the one from which we plan to launch eclilpse).
  • If you do not yet exist, we create the bin folder and inside, with good old there, we create the file "eclipse".
  • writing in the file the following lines in "shallese"
# / usr / bin / bash export
GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS
1 = `/ opt / eclipse / eclipse-vmargs-Xms128M-Xmx512M-XX: PermSize = 128M-XX: MaxPermSize = 512M &> / dev / null `&
  • Now granted execute permissions to the file just written. It will be a sufficient "chmod 775 eclipse".
  • Create an icon on your taskbar to bring up the eclipse executable file that you created and you're done.
