I've received several requests from people on LinkedIn who do not actually know.
After accepting the invitation, I could not seem to delete them from my contact list.
Since that is a specific person and I do not want to deal with strangers, I found a link "secret" :-) that allows you to remove unwanted contact.
must be logged in with your user linkedin and then use this url: http://www.linkedin.com/connections?displayBreakConnections = Good
removal at all.
